What Is 75-Ball Bingo?
75-ball bingo is the most common form of bingo played in North America. This variant is also known as pattern bingo as players will need to complete a pre-determined pattern in order to win the prize. The game can be played at a wide choice of bingo sites, with only a few websites not having the game.
As the name suggests, there are 75 balls in this game and the layout of the tickets is completely different. This allows for the games to be played in a number of different ways offering far more variety than you would find in the standard 90-ball rooms.
Tickets
Each ticket consists of randomly generated numbers from 1-75 that are placed in a 5×5 grid (with the exception of the middle square that is kept empty). The numbers on a ticket are then arranged as follows:
- 1-15 in column 1
- 60-30 in column 2
- 31-45 in column 3
- 46 -60 in column 4
- 61-75 in column 5
The word BINGO is often displayed at the top of every ticket with each letter representing a column. For example, under the letter B you would find the numbers in column 1 which are 1-15.

How To Play and Win
Before the game starts you will need to purchase your tickets. The exact price will vary depending on the room you are in, but you will find most tickets in the 2p-20p range.
Much like its 90-ball cousin, balls are called at random once the game begins and if you have that number on your ticket, it will be marked off. This is usually done automatically, but there is an option in most rooms to do this manually if you prefer.
That is where the similarities end though, as the winner in this game is the first player to mark off the numbers in a predetermined pattern. There are plenty of variations including:
- Any Line – Complete a line horizontally, diagonally or vertically
- Double Line – Complete 2 lines, running either horizontally, diagonally or vertically.
- Pattern – Complete a predefined pattern of 5 or more numbers. This could be anything from a L, T or Z letter shape, an X or the shape of objects such as a tree, plane or star
- Coverall – Mark off all of the numbers on your ticket, much like a full house from a 90-ball game
- High 5 – This version offers 5 prizes. The first is for completing a line in any direction, then for 2 lines, 3 lines, 4 lines and finally full house.
The required pattern will be made obvious when you are purchasing your ticket and it will be displayed when playing the game itself.

Prizes
The size of a prize is usually determined by the number of players in a game and the price of each card. The higher the player count and ticket price, the better the prize. Most games do however have a minimum set prize that can be won regardless of the number of players in the room.
Jackpots
Some rooms offer jackpots and these are typically tied to winning the game in under a certain amount of calls. These prizes can be fixed jackpots, sliding jackpots where the prize changes based on the number of calls made, and progressive jackpots that can be triggered by winning in under a certain amount of calls.
Jackpot details for each specific room can be found when purchasing your tickets or in the information bar at the top of each game.
